Michael is the Creative Team Lead for the Disruptors Vertical at Facebook/Instagram’s Creative Shop, where he leads a multidisciplinary creative team specializing in high-growth digital native brands. His team works collaboratively with client in-house creative teams, creative agencies, production companies, and creators to develop mobile-first advertising campaigns for emerging brands like Bombas, Glossier, Everlane, and Rent the Runway. Michael’s career has been split between working in small creative agencies and large tech companies. Prior to Facebook, he worked in a Creative Strategy role at Google/YouTube and was the Strategy Director of NYC-based branding agency The O Group. Throughout his career, Michael has developed creative strategies for a diverse array of brands ranging from global icons to disruptive startups. Outside of advertising, Michael is Brand Marketing Director and sits on the board for BALSA Sports, a role he has served in since 2015. His role at BALSA is to lead efforts for branding, marketing and digital strategy to help the NYC-based non-profit achieve its vision of elevating youth through sports. Education has been a focus of Michael’s career, which includes teaching, speaking, mentoring and designing curriculum. He was a Director at the Miami Ad School in NYC, and an adjunct marketing professor at Rochester Institute of Technology and Niagara University. He has spoken multiple times at the Fashion Institute of Technology, NYU, and University of Rochester Simon MBA Program, and has given keynote lectures on the topic of creative strategy around the world. Now Michael is focused on designing the future of creative education at Creative Strategy Bootcamp, the educational program he invented in 2017. Michael has an MBA in Strategic Marketing from Niagara University and resides in New York City.
